In 2023, domestic violence cases increased by 32.6% compared to 2022, and the number of protection orders issued grew by 30.2%. A total of 8,340 criminal cases were initiated in connection with violence against women, though fewer than half were brought to court in 2022. In 2021, over 10,000 people—92% of whom were women—sought help from crisis centres and other specialised services. Since 2019, the number of such requests has risen by 40%.
